There cannot be order without disorder.
Those who order others to their graves.
For without orders there WOULD be no disorder.
Yet we continue to murder in their names.
How many cities can be destroyed?
Before we forget what culture means?
We are erasing our collective footprint
With every air strike during the Anthropocene.
Soon there will be nothing left
Merely rumors and memories
As we start the timer back to zero
We see the fall of these countries.
Their politicians got greedy and sold out all their people.
Land, water, and rights to their wealthy legal eagles.
Only a matter of time now before this becomes our fate.
But destruction looks differently
As we look out from home plate.
And we have turned against one another
No need for bombs from the other side.
Our institutions feed on tribal rivalry
It’s how they conquer and divide.
And if we’d have listened to all the Jays maybe a little earlier we would have seen.
But now friends I fear it is too late
And an old fireman had to remind you that we are our own worst enemy.
