Greetings,
I hope you are enjoying the content I have been producing. My views and subscription numbers have been going up, and you’re reading this so that means you haven’t left. So I guess I’m doing something over here that peaks your interest, then. Good. I would write all day if I could. You should look at the notes on my phone… I’d do it for free -and I do - but I am asking you once again to consider becoming a paid subscriber.
I’m getting back into the podcast racket, and looking to expand how I am present with you online. This comes at a cost of time. Time away from my kids. My wife. My friends. And all the people in my very real world. These stories come from those experiences. I’ll be working with people very directly in the near future as my clinical practice begins to take form. For now I remain, like so many others, obliged to a system that cares very little about the very human experiences I like to go on about in my writings and podcasts; one that would drain that very essence out of me in the service of the next quarter. The hospital I work at (the largest system in the 4th largest city in Indiana) no longer is accepting Medicaid, as I am told. This arrangement has a shelf life I could write another post about. Maybe I will.
Ideology and principles are skillful ways to navigate society, but not to survive the game of life. I participate in the very exploitative processes I complain about here because I am a dad with a mortgage who is trying his best to give them a better start than I had…
And if we share common ground in that sense, I feel you and I promise that the work I am doing will extend beyond my own reach if it is indeed as good as it feels to produce it.
Everybody has a right to be free in thought and expression of sincerity. This is an expression of that belief, and your contribution of any amount is one step closer to leaving and dismantling the systems that subvert free expression, and elevate the people who have supported me. This is the way it has always worked, when people were the center focus. This will help people, real people trying to live their lives in their own way.
What will your contribution NOT do:
It will not fund a revolution.
Your money will not eliminate the law(s) you disagree with.
It will not solve the world’s problems through table-talk.
Make promises to solve any problems for yourself.
What it WILL do is fund production costs (it already has - just ordered business cards). Your contribution will also:
Help to support my family
Help with bills that keep coming
Provide me a healthy work/life/balance
Purchase needed equipment to continue writing and recording content
Buy space in my day to provide entertainment which reaches people in ways worth investing in. That’s something to invest in, no?
Help send Luna to puppy day care.
When Luna is at puppy day care, Chad is able to work on content and not feel like a bad puppy dad. Here’s Luna:
Fix things around our house. Overtime these days means extra internship hours.
It will help someone out. Takes a village right? This is how we repair things.
Thank you for reading. It heals my soul to know my work is appreciated, not by all, but by some. These words will be here when I am not. And in that way I could be speaking to you from the past. Isn’t that wild? Either way, we are both here now. And if you made it to this part, it means you read through everything. All that is left to do now is contemplate. I’ll see you at the next one.
Salud.
